The 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards are on the horizon. On September 19, the biggest stars in television will gather at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles to compete for some of the most coveted awards in entertainment. Black-ish, Lovecraft Country and Pose will go toe-to-toe with shows like Bridgerton, The Handmaid's Tale and The Crown for the "Outstanding Drama Series" crown. Meanwhile, Ted Lasso is favored to take home nearly all of the comedy hardware. Not to mention, A Black Lady Sketch Show and Saturday Night Live will duke it out in various sketch and late-night comedy categories. Needless to say, this is something that everyone will be talking about on Monday.

Who's Hosting?

Cedric The Entertainer

Cedric "The Entertainer" Kyles truly lives up to his nickname with all that he has accomplished. He's appeared in films like Top Five, starred in television shows like The Soul Man and produced projects like The Honeymooners. Not to mention, he is one of the original Kings of Comedy. Having accomplished all that he has, it's surprising that he has not been given the opportunity to host the Emmy Awards before. Either way, he will have the opportunity to add another line to his resume on Sunday.

"It's an honor to be the guy that's in charge — you know, running the post ... I'm the Tom Brady of this joint," he told People about his upcoming hosting gig.

"The way they did the show, I get to have maybe five minutes up front, but then I'm going to sneak in some other stuff. I'm already like, 'Look, I gotta get my jokes off, man,' " he said about his involvement in the show.

Who's Presenting?

The awards are nothing without proper presentation. This year, the academy has recruited an A-list group of stars to properly distribute these golden trophies to deserving television stars. From gold medalist Allyson Felix to Grammy winner LL Cool J, this may be the most diverse group of presenters the award show has had in years.

The following stars are slated to present awards at the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards:

  • Allyson Felix
  • Angela Bassett
  • Anthony Anderson
  • Ava DuVernay
  • Billy Porter
  • Gayle King
  • Jada Pinkett-Smith
